Diplomatic relations were established between the State of Qatar and the Republic of Belarus on January 16, 1996, and in November 2019, the Embassy of the State of Qatar in the Republic of Belarus opened its doors in the capital of Minsk.

Bilateral relations between the two countries are characterized by development and permanent cooperation, especially mutual support on the platform of international organizations, continuous political dialogue, and exchange of high-level official visits.

Relations between the State of Qatar and the Republic of Belarus are developing in the field of tourism, sports, health, culture, emergency and disaster prevention, as well as joint cooperation in the legal, military and security fields on the basis of common interest.
